There are some special preparations for various CT scans. A technologist will inform you of any preparations you need for your specific test. Again, wear comfortable clothing and try to avoid garments with metal zippers and snaps, however you may be asked to change into a gown.
You must alert the technologist if you may be pregnant! |

Please call 785-743-2182, Extension 129, to schedule a test or if you have any questions regarding our schedule or tests. It is imperative that you always inform the technologist if you might be pregnant or have any other concerns regarding an x-ray procedure. |

A DEXA scan is a test designed to measure bone mineral density and diagnose osteoporosis. This test is quick and painless. After initial screening, DEXA’s are done every 3-5 years or every 2-3 years if osteoporosis or osteopenia is detected. To prepare for your DEXA scan wear comfortable clothing, avoiding garments with any type of metal or zippers. |

This is our GE BrightSpeed 16 slice CT Unit that was installed in February of 2010. CT, also called CAT Scan, is a special piece of x-ray equipment that takes cross sectional images of a patient’s internal anatomy. Our state of the art equipment can image organs, soft tissue, joints, bones, blood vessels, and it can even create 3-D images. |
